Dr Stephen Hellberg started conducting software engineering research on developing scientific ’supercomputing‘ software with parallel computers; then, my industrial career followed the economic development of building significant enterprise business systems based on huge databases on ever larger server hardware, such as corporate data warehousing, enterprise application integration (EAI) and data mining. After assisting enterprises construct and use such systems as an infrastructure consultant, he has spent most of the last sixteen years supporting IBM customers with Java, specifically those employing the Hotspot JDKs, on various UNIX platforms and with various software stacks. In recent years, my support activities have diversified to cover Node.js and Apache Spark.
