Thomas began his career as a software developer where he was in various companies responsible for java-development, implementation of release management and continous integration processes as well as agile migrations. He contributed to research and projects at the University Of Applied Sciences in Carinthia and worked for the „Erste Bank“ in Austria.

2008 he accepted his first role as a technical instructor for Hybris (eCommerce/Java) where he taught technical classes all over the globe. After migrating to VMWare/EMC (later Pivotal) and teaching the Spring Framework he moved on to AWS teaching their cloud curriculum. He also spoke at events, contributed to courseware, localization and certification.

Since 1st of January Thomas got employed by Confluent and is now teaching Confluent courses around the open source streaming platform Apache Kafka as well as Confluent Platform. (Confluent Developer Training and Confluent Operations Training)
